The Car Controller Virtual Block is an easy way to setup directional controls for your car project using brushed motors. It works by being assigned the Motor Driver positions of your brushed motors, and then creating the logic for Forward, Back, Left and Right as Actions within the Car Controller Logic Maker.
NOTE: Your Motor Driver positions must be configured to be Brushed Mode. See Motor Driver & Brushed Motors on how to configured the Motor Driver Block for brushed motors.
Setting up the CarController Properties
First you will need to configure the Car Controller and select the ports you have connected the brushed motors to on the Motor Driver Block. You can access the Properties Panel by clicking on the Gear Icon under the Car Controller Block when you hover over it.
This will open up the Properties Panel on the right hand side. You will see a Motor Driver Block image at the bottom. To configure the Car Controller click the ports you have connected your motors to. For instance if you have inserted your brushed motors into position 1 and 2 on the Motor Driver Block, you would select position 1 and 2. Once you have selected your positions, you can exit out of the Properties Panel. You'll notice that when you exit out of the properties panel that now the block is red. This indicates that you have configured the Block.
Now you're ready to start using the Car Controls!
Open the Car Controller Logic Maker and insert an ACTION Gate. You will now have access to Forward, Back, Left and Right as Actions.
Now, each time an event is received by the ACTION Gate, your brushed motors will rotate in the selected direction.
